Mark S. Singer
China Representative - Shanghai/Hong Kong
Mark has extensive career experience in managing foreign operations in Japan and Asia, with strong brand development and marketing skills. His career includes extensive hands-on leadership experience in creation of cross-functional teams across Asian geographies. He is particularly strong in cultivating winning strategies across diverse teams by building common understandings and target setting.
Mark's career experience includes leadership roles in sales, marketing, and product development. He served as President of Sanford, Japan, and Marketing Director of Gillette, Japan, and also held senior level positions at Nike and Newell-Rubbermaid.
Mark has lived continuously in China since 2005 and brings his broad range of skills to JIC's customer base in China, Hong Kong, and Macao. His work in China has included extensive Corporate Social Responsibility consulting and project management field assignments in over 100 companies within China, to assist these corporations in developing their organizational effectiveness through a focus on continuous improvement foundations and growth of their human resource potential, including process and supply chain improvement. Mark is an accomplished expert in Lean Production and brings to JIC's China-based customers his ability to assist companies and factories with hands-on implementation guidance to achieve higher productivity and creating of value within the enterprise.
He holds an MA degree from Cornell University in Japanese Studies, and a BA degree from Canisius College in Classics. Mark speaks, reads, and writes Japanese fluently and has passed Level 1 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test and Level A of the JETRO Test of Business Japanese.
