Alex Fernández de Castro is a law graduate who lived and worked in Japan for three and a half years. While living in Tokyo, he was the Japanese correspondent for Catalunya Radio and Avui Newspaper, and hosted the Spanish teaching program at NHK, the Japanese Public TV Corporation. Upon returning to Barcelona, he wrote articles for the Daily Yomiuri. In 2003, he was invited to teach How to Work Effectively with Japanese for Siemens-Fujitsu in Feldafing, Germany. Since then, he has been lecturing on the subject for COPCA (Catalan Government), the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona, and Casa Asia (Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs).

Alex currently teaches cross-cultural issues at ESADE, a Barcelona-based business school which belongs to Universitat Ramon Llull. While working at ESADE, Alex has conducted research on the main challenges that Spanish and Japanese face when working together. He has taught professionals from all over the world to interact successfully with Spaniards, and has contributed to teaching materials on the subject created by Esade and business schools from Vienna and Copenhagen.

Alex holds a B.A. in Law and an M.A. in Spanish as a Second Language from the Universidad de Barcelona.
