Kumiko Ishiyama
HR Consultant - United Kingdom

Kumiko Ishiyama graduated with a BA in Economics from Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo, Japan. She began her career at Sharp Corporation in Japan, spending four years working in product planning. She then moved to the U.K .and completed an MSc in International Employment Relations and Human Resource Management from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

After that, she joined a London based British company as an HR Consultant, where she worked for two years providing advice on HR systems, U.K. employment law, and HR management as well as training for expatriate and locally-hired staff, for more than 20 U.K. subsidiaries of Japanese companies.

Kumiko continues her human resource management emphasis in her work with Japan Intercultural Consulting, where she is the Consultant in charge of our HR Outsourcing service . Her deep familiarity with the HR issues faced by Japanese firms operating in the U.K., and her knowledge of the most effective approaches to HR management in the U.K., enables her to provide practical and on-target advice to our clients.

Kumiko is a licentiate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and is fluent in Japanese and English, as well as having a basic knowledge of French.
