Sara Perring

Sara is a British national who has spent a total of 10 years living in Japan. She graduated from Oxford University with a BA (Honours) degree in Japanese studies. She lived in Tokyo with a Japanese family for part of her degree, and spent the time working at Rothschild Asset Management.

After graduation she joined Goldman Sachs working on their Japanese equities sales desk. She spent 8 years working for them in their NY, London and Tokyo offices. Sara was consistently top ranked in all of her client relationships. Her personal clients comprised a number of major investment houses and hedge funds, including Fidelity, Capital Group, Government of Singapore Investment Corp, Goldman Sachs Principle Strategies and UBS Fundamental Investment Group. During this time she ranked as number 1 in the AsiaMoney Poll of sales people for Japanese equities.

In 2003 Sara moved to Nikko Citigroup and quickly became co-head of the Japanese equity sales business there which made her responsible for all the Asian based foreign and Japanese clients, including the asset management arms of Nomura, Nikko, Mizuho, Sumitomo Mitsui, and Mitsubishi. She was a Managing Director and managed a diverse team of people including Japanese, English, American, and Italian nationals.

After 9 years in Japan and 13 years in finance, Sara returned to the UK and retrained as an executive coach. Her coaching style is action oriented and she focuses on improving management and leadership skills, as well as helping people to deal with cross cultural issues. She graduated from the International Coach Academy (ICF accredited) in 2011. Sara speaks Japanese, and is conversational in French and German.
