Virginia Kouyoumdjian holds a B.A. with honours in Japanese from the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London. She is a native speaker of both English and French, and is fluent in spoken and written Japanese. Virginia lived in Japan for twenty years, working first in the Public Relations Department of TDK Corporation. She then spent seven years as a Senior Analyst at the Tokyo Branch of Baring Securities Limited, specializing in consumer electronics, components, electrical cable, and electrical goods retailing. Since that time her career has been focused on various research, writing, and translation projects for organizations including The American Chamber of Commerce in Japan, TDK, Seiko, Fujitsu, Hakuhodo, IBM World Trade Asia Corporation, JETRO, Polaroid, Chanel and The Wall Street Journal.
