William Erb

William Erb specializes in working with business leaders and multicultural top teams to improve their effectiveness in delivering against major strategic objectives. William speaks Japanese fluently, has spent over ten years working in Japan and continues to travel frequently to Japan on business.
William’s Japan-related work experience includes positions with Kobe Steel (1984-1987), Morgan Stanley (1989-1999), and former FTSE 100 multinational Amersham plc, now owned by GE Healthcare (1999-2003). While at Morgan Stanley William worked as an M&A professional and was based in Morgan Stanley’s New York, London and Tokyo offices. During this time William advised a wide variety of clients on numerous acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures and was promoted to Executive Director. In 1999 William was recruited from Morgan Stanley by his client, Amersham plc, and became an Executive Vice President of Amersham Health, a global leader in the in vivo diagnostics industry. William was a member of the Amersham Health Executive Committee and a Director of Amersham’s market leading joint venture in Japan. William had operating responsibility for the Japan Region, Amersham Health’s second largest profit contributor after North America, as well as concurrent accountability for Global Business Strategy.
William is currently a consultant and executive coach working with clients on multicultural leadership issues. William also serves as a faculty adviser at London Business School to senior executives from leading multinationals enrolled in customized programs on corporate strategy.
