Akiko Yasutake Swabb
Senior Consultant - Utah, USA

A native of Japan, Akiko Swabb studied Sociology at Kobe College, and received a B.A. in Behavioral Sciences from Scarritt College. She also holds an M.S.S. in Research, Planning, and Counseling from Bryn Mawr College and was in the Ph.D. program in Sociology at the University of Pennsylvania.

Akiko specializes in cross-cultural training and organizational consulting. Her business experience spans both sides of the Pacific, giving her a unique perspective on international communication issues. Akiko has experience providing cross-cultural training and counseling, translation, interpretation, English/Japanese tutoring, policy research and analysis and international business coordination services to major Japanese and American corporations, as well as both the public and private sectors.

Akiko's excellent facilitation skills for large groups, her ability to illustrate cross-cultural issues with vivid examples, and her ability to coach executives in sensitive situations are popular among our clients.

Akiko is co-author of Trouble Kaihi no Eikaiwa & Manner (International Business Success Toolkit).
