Achieving important company goals requires a stable, motivated workforce. And proper human resource management is the essential ingredient.
However, the large differences in human resource practices between the U.S. and Japan make it challenging for Japanese managers to understand American expectations in terms of compensation, coaching, performance evaluation, career paths, recognition, etc.
This seminar provides Japanese senior managers with an introduction to the basics of how HR is conducted in the U.S., how the U.S. labor maket works, and how Americans choose their employers. Topics covered include job descriptions, determining the market value of individual positions, setting salary increases and bonuses, exempt vs. non-exempt, performance evaluation and feedback, creating a positive corporate culture, and retention strategies.
The seminar will be taught in Japanese by Rochelle Kopp, who has long experience assisting Japanese firms in the U.S. with HR matters.
For more information please view the seminar description in Japanese.
